Genetics Home Reference: Your Guide to Understanding Genetic Conditions, from the National Institutes of Health
This terrific site includes detailed information about genes, chromosomes, and more than 200 genetic conditions, as well as a glossary and links to related resources.

Student Resource Center is a terrific collection that includes the full text of encyclopedias, newspapers, magazines, primary sources, pamphlets, and more, representing a wide variety of subject areas. Particularly strong in its coverage of science and health, this database includes the full text of these encyclopedias: Gale Encyclopedia of Science, DISCovering Science, U.X.L. Science, and Sick!. Entries provide information about the causes, description, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and prognosis of each disorder included in these reference sources. Another helpful feature is the "Words to Know" section, often included in an article about a particular disorder.
MedlinePlus: A.D.A.M. Medical Encyclopedia
This easy-to-use resource includes "over 4,000 articles about diseases, tests, symptoms, injuries, and surgeries."

The Cell Page!
This site features terrific labelled illustrations of both a plant and animal cell. A user can click on any label for a detailed explanation and additional illustrations of the structure and function of that organelle (part of the cell), as well as links to other information sources.

This terrific site features movies, and links to many fine science journals and other information sources.
How Cells Work! (from howstuffworks)
This site offers a great deal of information about cells, including a discussion of cell parts, enzymes (which allow the cell to carry out the chemical reactions it must in order to grow and reproduce), DNA, and much more.
